Dryer Vent Cleaning
This one actually matters for fire safety. No exaggeration.
Real jobs. Real results.
Why Dryer Vent Cleaning Is Different
Unlike air duct cleaning — where the health benefits are debated — dryer vent cleaning has a clear, documented safety purpose. Lint is highly flammable. When it builds up in your dryer vent, it restricts airflow, causes your dryer to overheat, and creates a genuine fire hazard. The U.S. Fire Administration reports that dryers cause approximately 2,900 home fires per year, and failure to clean is the leading cause. We serve Yorkville, Oswego, Naperville, Aurora, and the surrounding Fox Valley area.
Dryer Vent Cleaning FAQ: Fire Safety Facts You Need to Know
How do I know if my dryer vent needs cleaning?
Common signs: your clothes take more than one cycle to dry; the dryer feels very hot to the touch during operation; you notice a burning smell; the outside vent flap doesn't open fully when the dryer is running; or it's been more than a year since your last cleaning. Long vent runs (over 25 feet) and vents with multiple elbows clog faster.
Breezy says:If your dryer is working harder than it used to, that's lint talking. Breezy has seen some truly impressive lint collections. Not in a good way.

How often should dryer vents be cleaned?
The general recommendation is once per year for average households. If you have a large family doing multiple loads daily, or a long vent run, every 6 months is smarter. If you have a bird or critter screen on your exterior vent cap, those can clog faster — and yes, birds sometimes nest in them.
Breezy says:Breezy has complicated feelings about birds nesting in dryer vents. Professional feelings only.
What's the critter cage / bird guard option?
We offer optional installation of a critter-proof vent cap for $75. This is a heavy-gauge mesh guard that prevents birds, squirrels, and other wildlife from nesting in your dryer vent — which is a surprisingly common problem. If you've ever had a bird nest in your vent before, this is worth it.
Breezy says:Breezy supports birds having homes. Just not in your dryer vent. We have standards.
Can I clean my dryer vent myself?
You can do a basic cleaning with a dryer vent brush kit from a hardware store, and it's better than nothing. But professional cleaning uses a rotary brush system with a high-powered vacuum that removes lint from the full length of the vent — including bends and elbows where DIY brushes can't reach. For long or complex vent runs, professional cleaning is the safer call.
Breezy says:We're not going to tell you that you can't do it yourself. We just do it better and faster.
